Copper Valley Telecom Scholarship - Due March 15th, 2019
CVT will be offering $20,000 in scholarships ($10,000 in each district) to be made available to graduating seniors in the Valdez and Copper Basin School Districts, including Tatitlek and Mentasta, whose parents or guardians are members of CVTC (to be considered a member, customers must have landline telephone service with CVT). The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, March 15th at 6:00 p.m. Winners of the scholarship(s) will be announced at CVT's annual meetings and again at graduation.
Copper Valley Telecom Scholarships - Cordova
Copper Valley Telecom is pleased to announce that two $500 scholarships are available to graduating seniors whose parents/guardians have their cell phone service with Copper Valley Telecom and reside in Cordova. The scholarship committees will select the finalists based on the merits of this application and possibly an interview. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the CVTC Annual Meetings and again at graduation ceremonies. Proof of school acceptance must be submitted prior to award disbursement. Disbursement of the award will be made to the school's financial aid office following receipt of verification of enrollment from the school. In the event no qualified applications are received, the Scholarship Committee reserves the right to forego awarding one or more scholarships each year.
Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Scholarship – Due March 1st, 2019
As your local telecommunications service provider, it is our pleasure to offer this national scholarship program to the students of the Valdez and Copper Basin School Districts. Should a sponsored student from one of our service areas be selected to receive one of the scholarships ($2,000), we will contribute an additional $500 to the scholarship, bringing the total one-time scholarship award to $2,500. Students may also be eligible for four FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarships valued at $5,000 each or for two TMS Scholarships at $1,500 each. Students who are majoring in math, science, engineering, or medicine are given preference for the FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarships. Additional scholarships include the Everett Kneece Return to Rural America Scholarship, valued at $7,000, and three $500 Roger Alan Cox Memorial Scholarships. Applications must be signed by a CVT representative and postmarked by March 1st.
Alaska Telephone Association (ATA) Scholarship – The deadline for the 2019 scholarships hasn't been announced yet, but the link is correct and students can check it regularly for updates.
The Alaska Telephone Association is offering scholarship opportunities for students sponsored by Copper Valley Telecom and other Associate Members. For a student to be sponsored by CVT, a parent must be a member of the cooperative (have landline service). For additional qualifications and requirements, please visit the ATA Scholarships page.
