Lifeline & Linkup

Assisted local telephone service for customers who meet specific criteria.

Qualification Criteria:

Basic telephone service assistance is provided to CVTC consumer customers who meet the following criteria for assistance. You may download more details on eligibility for Lifeline here.

The person applying must be the subscriber with CVTC for telephone service and must reside at the location for which the telephone service is provided. This assistance is available only for the primary consumer connection. If under the age of 60, the subscriber may not be a dependent for federal income tax purposes (i.e., not listed as a dependent on another person's 1040 tax form).

In order to qualify for Consumer Service Assistance, the subscriber (CVTC billing party) must receive assistance from one of the following programs.

  • Adult Public Assistance
  • Alaska Temporary Assistance Program (ATAP)
  • Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) General Assistance
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance / Section 8 Programs
  • Food Stamps
  • Head Start Programs (under income qualifying eligibility provision only)
  • Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Programs
  • Medicaid
  • National School Lunch Program (free meals program only)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Tribally Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
  • Households with income at or below 135% of Federal Poverty Guidelines
